About Micky
Thank you for wanting to learn more about myself. Now first, many people accidentally visit my blog mistaking me for Brad Pitt because of our facial similarities;) If you are one of these people, I am flattered but you are apparently at the wrong site. I do, however, hope you stick around a little longer.
For those of you really looking for my blog, you are almost at the bottom of your to-do list! The next item on your list is either clean out your glove compartment or catch up on the Gun Smoke episodes.
To give you a background on myself (which all inquiring minds want to know), I was born in Nashville, Tennessee and grew up with 2 great brothers and loving parents. My father hails from Maryland and his family is from Virginia close to Walton’s Mountain. My mother was reared in east Tennessee (reared is what they say over there). She’s cool because Davey Crockett was her 3rd great uncle. You know Davey Crockett, The King of the Wild Frontier! For those of you counting, that makes me Davey’s 4th great nephew and that rocks!
I am married (sorry ladies) to a great woman and we have a beautiful (I really mean gorgeous) daughter. We share our home with a precious toy poodle named Itsy Bitsy (it’s really her place, we just pay the mortgage.)
In 2008, I decided (with my wife’s permission of course) to disrupt our beautiful lives, family, friends, career, and our small technology consulting business in middle Tennessee and get my MBA. Not just any MBA but one from the top Entrepreneurship MBA Program in the world (that is how we roll).
After reviewing the top 3 entrepreneur programs in the world: Babson, USC and University of Arizona, we selected the Eller MBA Program at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. Eller’s Entrepreneurship program, caring staff and small class sizes along with Arizona’s climate and low cost of living were the perfect fit. Needless to say, the the next 2 years following that decision will were both an exciting and busy period for us.
After graduation from The University of Arizona Eller MBA, I partnered with Jarret Hamstreet, a classmate of mine from Eller, and we launched Post.Bid.Ship. Post.Bid.Ship. is an online exchange which helps match commercial shippers of freight with carriers. Be sure to stick around and watch how we survive. Till then, this is enough about me (I could go on for days). Please enjoy your visit and feel free to write me if you like the site.
Best Wishes,
Micky Thompson

What a small world we live in Micky! I just read your article in the Eller Progress Magazine and checked out your profile on Linkedin, it appears that I am living in Spring Hill, your high school town, went to UofA for undergrad, and MTSU for my MBA. Im in your home state of TN and your in my home state of AZ! Its so strange the similarities are eerie! However, you’ve got me beat, for UofA has a much better MBA program and you’ve probably got a great wife and kids.
Let me tell you living in Spring Hill is not the place to be if you are a bachelor like me, LOL!

Hi Mick, I was chatting with your Dad this morning, I loved that. While we were reminising and chatting the subject of Micky came up. Isn’t that quite unusual? No… Your Dad was telling me about the magazine that you made cover page of. I asked if he had a copy of the book, instead he emailed me the article. Micky you are really amazing and it is an honor to have you as my nephew. I wish you health, happiness and great success. God Bless you and your lovely wife and daughter. I love you all, Aunt Peggie
